Adjudicator: Chris Greenslade
Chris Greenslade was a student of Bruce Greenfield and went on to complete his honours degree in performance with Richard Mapp at the Wellington Conservatorium of Music. His post graduate studies were at the Royal Northern College of Music with Mark Ray where he was the recipient of the RNCM Julius Scholarship and studying chamber music with Dr Christopher Rowland. Chris works regularly as soloist and collaborative pianist and is the principal pianist for the Hamilton Civic Choir. He has appeared with St Mathews Chamber Orchestra playing harpsichord for Bach’s St Mathew Passion as well as Civic Choirs performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana for 2 pianos and percussion.
Chris is passionate about music education and as well as teaching piano at St Paul’s Collegiate, he is a performance fellow at the University of Waikato Conservatorium of Music and has a busy studio of students who have had regular success in both local and national competitions including the North Shore concerto competition and the Wallace National Jr Piano Competition. As well as adjudicating for IRMTNZ he has been regional coach and adjudicator for the CMNZ secondary schools chamber music contest. Chris has also enjoyed working for a number of years with Conductive Education Waikato providing music appreciation classes for children with special needs.
